Sea Scouts

The Westerly Sea Scouts have been actively training the young men and women of our community in the best traditions of scouting and seamanship for nearly 90 years. We are part of the Venturing Division of Boy Scouts of America and have been in operation for almost as many years as Sea Scouting has been in this country.

Having assisted in the construction of the original Yacht Club facility, we have been proudly affiliated with the Club since its inception and are recognized in the Club's original charter. Many of us are members of the Westerly Yacht Club.

Our ranks are open to all youth, ages 14-21, who are interested in learning the disciplines of seamanship and the challenges of the Scouting experience, and we look forward to expanding our ranks with those who have developed their abilities under the skillful guidance of the Youth Sailing instructors. We also encourage the participation of adults willing to enrich our program by sharing their time, knowledge and expertise.

For those of you who are interested in the Sea Scouts, or know someone who might be, we are currently developing our own website which will be linked with the Club's. Until we are up and running, you may contact me at Pete Caulfield for more information, or click here.
